Jennifer L. Schuham

 

 

            Jennifer L. Schuham grew up in Elmhurst, IL. She is a graduate of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI with a B.A. Business Administration.  She received specialized leadership and bible study training.  Hobbies include: traveling, photography, reading, camping, skiing and spending time with her children.

 

Jennifer has worked in the family business, Schuham Builder’s Supply Co., Inc. for 16 years. Jennifer received a degree in the Fundamentals of Door and Hardware at the Door and Hardware Institute Technical School (DHI) and holds a current membership.  She annually attends business professional training seminars.  She is an office and shareholder holding the position of Vice President.  

 

Since 1929, Schuham Builder’s Supply Co., Inc. is a wholesale supplier in: Hollow Metal, Architectural Wood Doors and Architectural Hardware to the greater Chicago area. Primary market is in commercial industry which includes a customer base of architects, commercial contractors, masons, institutions and management companies. Jennifer’s responsibilities include:  management and oversight in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables, Purchasing, Marketing and Human Resources Management for 27 employees. Assist in the reviewing, changes and maintenance of the companies building, health and long-term disability insurance, 401K plan, and profit sharing plan.

 

Jennifer has been a member at Elmhurst Presbyterian Church for over 35 years. She has served as an ordained Deacon and is an Elder. Over the years she has served in the church as a youth group leader and as a Ruling Elder served as the chair of Christian Education committee, Publicity, and Buildings & Grounds.  

 

She has served on several committees and task forces at the Presbytery of Chicago, including the Camp Oversight and Development Committee where she was the Vice Moderator for 3 years and the Moderator for 3 years. In 2005 she became a member of the American Camping Association (ACA) attending annual training and information seminars.

 

Jennifer’s connection with the Presbyterian Camps at Saugatuck began at an early age. She has been a camper, a staff member, a work volunteer and a family camper.  She enjoys finding time each summer to be a counselor for the Sr. High’s.  Over all has 20 years of experience in youth ministries and camp counseling.

 

Jennifer’s grandparents have had a summer resident in Saugatuck, MI for years. She is deeply committed to protecting the Presbyterian Camps property. As the camp has played a significant role in her spiritual life, she will work to preserve a spiritual ministry that can reach out and touch many more lives.
