Janet Hyde

Janet and husband, Steven have lived in Naperville for the past 29 years. She has lived in Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Florida, and Great Britain. Janet graduated from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio.
She has had the opportunity to volunteer extensively in her community. Janet was a board member and on the executive committee for the Naperville United Way for 6 years. She also served as a trustee for the Naperville Education Foundation. She was a board member for the Naperville School District 203 Home & School Association for 14 years; serving as president at the elementary, junior high and high school levels.
As an active member of the Naperville Heritage Society for over 25 years, she has chaired and served on many special event committees. She has had the honor of being recognized by the Naperville Jaycees and Naperville Central High School for your work as a community volunteer.
Janet has been a member of Knox Presbyterian Church for many years. She has had the privilege of serving as an elder. As Co Director of Children’s Ministries for 7 years, she focused on the youth and families of the Knox community. Janet was a member of the Steering Committee for the recently completed Capital Campaign and Building project.   One of her greatest joys is serving on the steering committee for the annual youth/adult mission trip called Go & Serve. The group  – 80 youth  and 30 adults – has traveled all over our country building and rebuilding homes for those in need.

Janet was introduced to the camps at Saugatuck 5 years ago when Knox’s Go & Serve had the unique opportunity to serve fellow Presbyterians by building a brand new cabin during the mission week. She is committed and excited about working with the LCC and the extended Presbyterian community to grow the camping ministry at Saugatuck.
