Update on Pre-Presbytery & Assembly Meeting

LCC would like to thank all who support the Presbyterian Camps, both those present and not present this past Saturday. Seeing all the camp shirts and tie-dye really warmed things up on a snowy morning. Everyone was in good spirits and the morning was full of positive energy. The Pre-Presbytery meeting was attended by over 200 persons.

Rev. Stewart Pattison gave the LCC presentation.  The LCC embraces the Acts 16:5 initiative that frames the vision the LCC has for the Presbyterian Camps in Saugatuck, MI. Questions from the floor were all good. LCC did not receive any opposition and there was strong support that the camp should be saved.

PRTF report – Rev. Bob Reynolds gave an update on what can and cannot be stated regarding the indebtedness of the Presbytery of Chicago.  Greg Bostrom reviewed that the PRTF is not at a point to make any decisions and are still reviewing options that have been presented to them.

At the Assembly meeting the Presbytery approved the summer camping season and the hiring of staff will happen. There was a report given by the PRTF and some good questions from the floor.  We thank those that spoke in favor of preserving the camping ministry.  The LCC encourages everyone to sign up for camp to support the program of the Presbyterian Camps!

LCC will meet with the PRTF on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with high hopes of coming to an agreement for a Letter of Intent. We ask for you to send your prayers of support.

Unless a special meeting is called, the next Presbytery Assembly meeting is:
